It's Been a While....

Hello my lovely friends! Boy has it been a while since I sat in front of my laptop and wrote something on this blog! I have not quit blogging, but I did take a long break. If you're interested in more of why I took a break, what I learned, etc., click here. This is just a chatty little post to update you all on what has happened while I was gone! I must say, I will not be active on this blog as I was previously. Not to say that this schedule change is permanent in any way, but just in this phase of life, I don't see myself posting on this blog regularly, (like a normal blogger would). I understand that my blog revenue definitely takes a toll when I don't post regularly. What happens, is when I'm not consistently, (more like constantly), active on social media and blogging, people unfollow. Which I understand, but in this day and age it saddens me that everything has to be moving so quickly. I don't know if I'm even making sense right now, maybe I'm just rambling haha. Anyway, onto my life updates....

Though I've taken a break with blogging, I have discovered a new hobby of mine and that is interior design! I'm currently in the mess of trying (oh-so hard), to remodel our home! Not necessarily architecturally, but furniture wise. I just ordered a new couch for our family and plan to remodel the kitchen next. (SEND HELPPP!!) It's been hard, but very rewarding! ALSO, Black Friday IS COMING. Y'all know your girl is a shopping fanatic and I'm doing it all online this year! I do quite love the high energy and craziness of being in the stores (lol), but I think it's much easier for me to focus on what I actually need to buy, if I'm in the comfort of my home without people fighting for a dress, ya know? In previous years, I was just going to the mall scrounging for good brands with good deals. This year, since I already have a jam-packed closet, I'm trying to be more organized. I'm creating a list of things I need to get, (eg. Christmas gifts, furniture, a new toaster oven), and then some stores I'll look at, just to see what deals are happening. My favorite stores right now are Madewell, Target, Nordstrom, Gap, Old Navy, Patagonia, Birkenstock, Dry Bar (ya girl is in the market for a new straightener & curling wand), Athleta/Lululemon, Tieks, and Pottery Barn (whew that's a lot of stores!) Y'all better believe I'll be hitting up all those stores from the comfort of my home, and I can't wait!!

For Thanksgiving this year, I'm hosting!! (I couldn't be more excited because I volunteer myself every year bahahaha!) My parents, sister, brother in-law, and nieces will be coming to my house on Thanksgiving! Y'all know I'm a family gal + homebody, so there's truly nothing I love more than spending the entire day with my family in the comfort of my home. We'll also be doing our black friday shopping together! My initial plan was to finish at least the living room area before I hosted Thanksgiving. I was putting lots of unnecessary stress on myself to get the project done. I was adding items to my cart that I didn't truly love, purely to be done with the project and have a beautiful home for Thanksgiving. But of course, I had to put myself into perspective again and realize that IT DOESN'T MATTER. Who cares if Sally next door is or isn't impressed by your house, who cares if your house isn't as perfect as your saved Pinterest boards, WHO CARES. All that matters on Thanksgiving day is the food and your family. Actually, just your family. ;) So, even if you burn the turkey this year, or forget to buy the cranberry sauce, don't have your decorations up in time, don't have every fall candle ever created, don't get the Black Friday deals and just sleep in, IT SERIOUSLY DOESN'T MATTER. Five years from now, you'll remember and cherish the memories you created with your family and/or friends, not the amazing deals you snagged, the decorations you had, every single perfect little name card on the table, or even the delicious food. All you'll remember is how you felt. So forget about all the commercialized things that come with the month of November, because it's all just a cherry on top! From the bottom of my heart, have an amazing Thanksgiving and rest of your November ladies and gents. I love you!
